Types of Home Made Generators

Is a home made generator right for you? This brief introduction to energy generators of all types should help you decide which system to either build yourself or purchase.

There are a variety of types of generators that will produce the energy you need to operate your home and personal electronics. In our modern age we have put to use solar energy (energy collected and stored from the sun), wind power (via windmills or large turbines), fossil fuel generators that produce power through the use of burning gas, and my personal favorite, magnetic energy.

All generators have their place and the one you choose will be determined by your desires, your budget, and the location in which your house is located. As an example, our house in Ontario is set far back from the road and situated on the highest point of the property. When we were building the house we started out with a gas generator – a noisy beast that needed to be fed gasoline on a regular basis just to keep our power tools running and hand held tool batteries charged.

Make no mistake, I still love that generator today but it has it’s place and best use and that is only during times that the local power supply (from the electric company) goes out. Freak wind storms, power lines down, transformers blowing – all good reasons to fire up that generator to keep the heat flowing, lights on, and computer connected to the internet. My biggest beef about the generator? It’s noisy!

My biggest problem about being a captive user of the electric company’s price whims? They don’t just charge us for the electricity we use – no they charge us a premium every month simply because we live down a back road and our driveway is long. Let’s be clear that this isn’t a way for them to recoup their loss of having to bring the power lines down to the house. Nope, we paid for the poles, we paid for the wire, we paid for the transformer up front. Long before they decided we were safe to hook up and start sending bills to. So whether we are here or not, using energy or not, we’re still paying a premium price every month.

At another property we have solar. On a large roof the panels were installed (cost us a small fortune), and equipment set up in the basement. Batteries store the collected power to be used when required. We went with the smallest setup as the cabin is only a 3 bedroom, but even with only one person using the place at a time – and even being conservative minded – at some points of the year, the power collected and stored isn’t sufficient. Add to this that every few years we are replacing or updating equipment and you can see why this isn’t my favorite choice for home energy generation.

Wind generator setups are much the same as solar – only in most cases there is the whirring noise to become accustomed to. I have been reading lately about the large wind farms in Canada – acres of costly equipment – that have to be shut down repeatedly as the energy they’re collecting isn’t being put to use. The collection systems are being overloaded. Of course you’ll likely not be planting a wind farm but I do have one point of concern, even on the small scale. At these large plots of wind turbines Mother Nature has taken a beating. Apparently the earthworms have died off and/or are vacating the area. Not only at the base of a turbine but at the neighboring acres as well. Make no mistake here, this seems a small point, but earthworms are a vital part of the cycle of life and health of soil. If they are affected by the large turbines they may also be affected by a smaller one planted in your back yard for home energy use.

Home Made Generators

With all this income and exploitation by the electric companies and hydro providers, surely you must realize that a better way might exist but been hidden by the masses. That’s just the way it is. Just like a cure for cancer back in the 40s by a woman named Caisse using all natural ingredients was swept under the rug by the large pharmaceutical companies – much is the same in the field of electrical power. Make no mistake here…when you control a country’s electrical source and supply, you control every inhabitant of that country. No conspiracy theory here, this is big business. If the average Joe or Joan figured out how to slash or eliminate their electric bill every month our governments and electricity corporations would fall.

So let’s talk about what type of home generator is best for you and your situation and if you can build one yourself. A home made generator isn’t that difficult if you have the right instructions and parts list. Furthermore there are kits that you can buy (everything included to make a home made generator) with ample directions and diagrams to put it together. You’ll probably save $10 or more if you go out and source the needed parts instead of buying a kit, but some people prefer not to do the running around to various stores and are happy to pay a few extra dollars to have it all arrive in the mail, in a few boxes, from one supplier.

The generator I want to tell you about is magnetic. It’s important to keep an open mind if this is all new to you. The fact is that magnetic generators have existed for decades and are in use by large power supplies all over the globe as a way to provide or supplement their otherwise inexpensive sources of power. That’s right folks, they produce it cheaply and pay their executives and staff handsomely. While you and I foot the bill.

It gets worse. They also have the means to produce cheaper electricity but because they have made bad business decisions in the past they are tied into contracts of power supply for decades still. They have to keep using those power sources until the contracts are up and you and I pay through the nose for those expensive mistakes and golden handshakes. The rich get richer and the poor are thought of as fools who pay the bills.

Back on topic here. The magnetic generator is being used by some of the largest corporations around the world. Is it a big unit? Yes it is. Can it be scaled down for personal and home use? Yes, that’s how these generators were initially tested and prototyped. Check out this video from the scientists and electricity companies in Budapest and Toronto.

There are others, but if that video doesn’t help you to see the power, the conspiracy and the ability for you to bypass all of their nonsense, there isn’t much more I could show you to convince you. Bottom line? You should do this and save yourself hundreds monthly, thousands annually, and let the electric company know that you’re not their captive anymore. There simply is no good reason for them to keep treating us like their slave labor anymore.
